Ray Brown, Director. Passed away suddenly in July of 2017

Dr. Susan Lemei, Director.  Took over after the sad and sudden death of Ray Brown in July of 2017

She had been a tuba and trombone player in the Brattleboro American Legion Band.  Sue also directs the Grafton Concert band.

She plays tuba and trombone in the Windham Orchestra, The Keene N.H. American Legion Band, and the Keene N.H. Chamber Orchestra.

Bruce Corwin, Director Emeritus, received degrees from the University of Maine and the University of New Hampshire. He was the instrumental music teacher for the Windham Southeast Supervisory Union-serving the towns of Brattleboro, Guilford, Vernon, and Putney. He retired from that position after 38 years.

He has directed the Brattleboro American Legion Band since its formation and became Director Emeritus this year. He will continue to play his trombone for many years to come. He is a past director of the Chester Brass and also directs the Grafton(VT) Cornet Band.

Bruce was the November 2004 recipient of the Brattleboro Savings and Loan Community Person award, in recognition of his dedication and countless hours of time donated to the Brattleboro American Legion Band.
